SHREE KHEDUT SAHAKARI KHAND UDYOG MANDLI LTD At Baben-Bardoli is the first sugar factory started in co-operative sector in Gujarat in the year 1955. The society start ceremony was performed by Hon. Shri Morarjibhai Desai on 4th March, 1956. The society is the biggest co-operative in the Asia. The society has started with 850 tones rebuke per twenty-four hour boundary crush. Today, this factory is crushing 10,000 tones cane per day. In due course, the Government of India issued licensed no. G/265 dated 9th Feb. 1955 for establishing a sugar factory having efficacy of 850 tones per day crushing.

The oldest sugar factory has become a source of inspiration, counsellor and help to all other sugar factories that came up in Gujarat state. Today, there atomic number 18 total 24 sugar factories in Gujarat state, out of which 24 sugar factories were already commissioned. All these factories ar in co-operative sector.

This society was registered in February, 1955. Order for the sugar machinery was primed(p) with M/s Backau wolf of West Germany in August, 1955 for a cost of Rs. 47.5 Lakh. The first crushing season was started on twenty-first April, 1957 of 1956-57 seasons. IFCI loan was fully repaid within a short period of seven years i.e. by 1963.



The Government Share corking was fully repaid in the year 1969. All members of the society are farmers basically engaged in sugarcane cultivation. Our total membership is 5642. Factory has successfully completed 50 years crushing in the year 2005. The occasion was celebrated in the mien of distinguished guest, personalities of sugar industries.
The sugar factory has commissioned in February, 1955. The plant was very old and big. Its initial crushing capacity was 850 tones per day. It was partly steam driven and partly electric driven.
