Walt Whitman was born in western United States hills, Long Island, New York on May 31, 1819. As a child his parents locomote to Brooklyn. In 18251830 he attended customary school in Brooklyn. His family frequently relocates within city. At the age of 1830- 1831 he worked as an office boy and learned type-setting at the age of thirteen geezerhood old. Later he taught a country school as a school instructor through the historic period of 1835-1836. He also contributor to an editor of various periodicals and magazines. These are some he did The Aurora and the talebearer at the year of 1842, and more. At the age of 16 years old he produce his first edition of his nearly famous book which is called Leaves of Grass. These books contain twelve poems. In 1865 he also make a collection of civil war poems, which they call them the Drum-taps.
In 1873 he suffered a paralyzing stroke and moved from Washington D.C to New Jersey to live with his brother. His remaining years were nonetheless marked by a decline in creative powers. In 1888 he published November Boughs. He suffered other stroke.
One of his major works is Leaves of Grass was first published in 1855 and contained only twelve poems. Whitman continued to add to and decree his collection over the next 30 years. Over the years, Whitman published a number of volumes Leaves of Grass as he wrote more poems and increased the collection.
