The first widely known website created specifically for social networking was Myspace, in 2003. The use of social media can increase consumer vulnerability to identity thieving because of the amount and type of personal information people share on these networks. However, consumers do little or nothing to cherish themselves, according to a recent study conducted by the Ponemon convey (truth about social..) Some social network sites, such as MySpace, are free and idle to anyone. Others have age restrictions; Facebook, for example, is open to persons over age 13. And other sites have a ill-tempered focus, such as dating, photography, career networking, or crafts. (opposing viewpoints) Privacy is the like virginity: impossible to get back. The introduction of Timeline to Facebook enables prospective employers, business contacts or romantic partners to search for photos of a person.
